A video I put together for our storage and compression department, providing a brief overview on the topic.
One of the first portions of the video I completed was this isometric system diagram. If I were to do it again today, I’d probably go full 3D to be able to move around within the illustration.I spend so much time figuring out how to add motion to these isometric illustrations that I ended up rebuilding them in Cinema 4D and animating them there. Each block was exported as a 1080 frame animation on a transparent background for ease of incorporation into After Effects.Through time remapping and scaling, I was able to get a lot of use out of a few seconds-long rotation animations. The humble looping animation. Some of the source illustrations provided to me that I reworked in Illustrator.
